Sembawang Country Club has always been more than just a golf club. For many of us, it is a second home\u2014a place where lifelong friendships have been formed, families have spent quality time together, and lasting memories have been created over the years.<\/p>

As Chairman, I have had the privilege of witnessing our Club’s continued growth and transformation. At every stage, our focus has remained entirely the same: to provide you with a high-quality golfing and lifestyle experience while preserving the warm, unique spirit that makes Sembawang so special.<\/p>

None of this happens by chance. A vital part of our responsibility as a Club is ensuring its long-term sustainability. Today, we are enjoying the fruits of the foresight shown by the previous generation of members and leaders. It was their disciplined stewardship that allowed the Club to accumulate the necessary reserves to fund our major infrastructure upgrades.<\/p>

In that same spirit, we must be good stewards for those who will follow us. The decisions we make today ensure we can save and build up sufficient reserves for the next generation, particularly when the golf course is due for its next major renovation around 2040. By taking a responsible, long-term approach now, we secure the future of Sembawang Country Club for decades to come.<\/p>

With this in mind, I want to speak to you openly about our upcoming pricing review and share three key messages on how we are moving forward together.\u00a0 In this fee revision, our fees will be benchmarked to similar golf clubs in Singapore.\u00a0 Additionally, the fee increases will be comprehensive.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In recent years, the Club has made significant investments across our facilities and services. Most notably, the golf course redevelopment project represents one of the most substantial improvement initiatives we have ever undertaken.<\/p>

These efforts were complemented by upgrades to our swimming pool facilities, enhancements to the driving range through the introduction of Trackman technology and automation, the refurbishment of our changing rooms and restrooms, improved gym equipment, complimentary shuttle bus services, and various infrastructure upgrades across the property.<\/p>

Together, these investments were made with a single objective in mind: to provide a better experience for you and your family, while maintaining the high standards you rightfully expect of Sembawang Country Club.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Alongside these investments, the Club has had to manage steadily rising operating costs. Over the past 10 years, our operating expenditure has increased by approximately 42%, driven largely by manpower, specialized maintenance, utilities, and other day-to-day costs.<\/p>

Despite these rising pressures, our member\u2019s monthly subscription fees and golfing fees have remained since 2018. Throughout this period, the Club willingly absorbed a significant portion of these increased costs so we could prioritize your experience over cost recovery.<\/p>

Following a comprehensive review and deep consideration, the Management Committee has decided that adjustments to both our golfing fees and monthly subscription fees are now necessary to keep the Club on a firm financial footing.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

I fully recognise that fee revisions have a direct impact on everyone, and these decisions were certainly not taken lightly. They followed extensive deliberation by the Management Committee, as we worked hard to balance the immediate interests of our members with the long-term need to maintain the facilities and experiences you value.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Because we know this transition affects you, it was incredibly important to us that we put measures in place to help ease the impact.<\/p>\n

As a genuine thank you for your continued support and understanding, the Club will introduce a Member Appreciation Package. It includes five complimentary golf games<\/strong> for both Continuing and Restricted Principal Members, giving you the opportunity to experience and enjoy the newly redeveloped golf course.<\/p>\n

In addition, members under the SAF Restricted and CIV Restricted categories will be given a special, one-time opportunity to convert to the corresponding standard Continuing membership category, without having to make any retrospective subscription adjustments.  Members who prefer to remain in their current category are entirely welcome to do so at the revised subscription fees. <\/p>\n
