Captain’s Column – May 2024: Green Updates and Course Renovations
Dear Members,
Hope that golf has been good for all of us. As we strive to ensure that our beloved golf course remains enjoyable, I am happy to share updates regarding our ongoing projects and improvements.
Change in Green Maintenance Contractor
Firstly, I would like to announce a significant change in our golf course maintenance contractor. After thorough deliberation and review, we have decided to change our green maintenance responsibilities from MGC to TEHC International. This decision was not made lightly. Nonetheless, TEHC has much experience in maintaining golf courses in Singapore. They are committed to ensuring the playability of our greens for both daily play and tournaments (such as our Club Championship as well as SCC Open). The transition will commence on 3 June, and we are confident that TEHC will look after our course.
Golf Course Renovation Update
Moving onto an even more exciting development, our golf course renovation project is advancing smoothly. We have recently completed the consultation phase with our course consultants. The consultant’s report was thorough and insightful, highlighting key areas for improvement that would offer a challenging yet enjoyable experience for all skill levels. With the report in hand, we are now moving forward to the tender phase for the golf course designer/architect. The tender for the contractor will follow the award of designer/architect.
As we head towards the course renovation, I hope that these upgrades will elevate your experience. We appreciate your patience and support as we undertake these enhancements.
